We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, phone number), content you share (URLs, mood boards, itineraries), and usage data to improve our service.
Location. With your permission, Compass uses your device location (approximate GPS / city) to suggest nearby destinations and pre-fill your origin city when planning trips. Location access is optional - you can grant or revoke it at any time in your device settings, and the app remains usable without it.
Instagram and YouTube content. When you connect Instagram or send a reel to our Instagram bot, or share an Instagram/YouTube link to Compass, we receive the content you choose to save (such as the link, caption text, thumbnail, and - for connected Instagram - your Instagram handle) so we can extract places and build itineraries for you. We only receive content you explicitly send or save.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Compass:
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global infrastructure. We use encryption in transit and at rest. Authentication is handled by Clerk with industry-standard security.

You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile -> Delete Account) or from our account deletion page. After you request deletion, we retain your data for 30 days (a grace period during which you can reactivate by signing back in) before permanent removal. If you no longer have the app installed, email [email protected] from your account email to request deletion. Anonymized activity data may be retained for analytics.
